How do I make an appointment?

To see a GP on the day

The system that we operate allows patients to see a GP on the day that they need to.

If you would like to see a GP on the day you should phone the practice between

8.00am-10.30am for a morning appointment or after 1.30pm for an afternoon appointment. Our morning appointments start at 9.00am and therefore if you do come up to the surgery to make an appointment when we open at 8.00am you will be asked to return for your appointment.  Each GP runs a 3 hour appointment session, if all the appointments have been booked when you call a member of staff may ask you if it is possible to say what the problem is as the receptionist will need to ask the GP if he feels the problem needs to be seen that day.

All children and patients over the age of 75 years of age are seen on the day if requested.

You must appreciate that the phone lines are very busy at 8.00am and you may have to try more than once to get through.

Booking an appointment with a GP in advance

If you would like to book an appointment with a GP in advance we offer pre-bookable appointments, which can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance.  We do offer both morning and evening pre-bookable appointments.

Telephone Consultations

The Practice offers telephone consultations and these are for patients that may have already seen the GP but are waiting for the results of a test or for a medication query.  If you request a telephone consultation the receptionist will ask you your telephone number and ask if the call is regarding a result etc, as the GP will need the information in front of him when he gives you a call back.  The doctors carry out telephone consultations every day.  You will need to contact the surgery before 12 noon on the day you require the call back.

Online Patient Access

The Practice now offers an online appointment service as an alternative way of booking your appointment.

You will need to register to use this service.  An application form is available from reception or you can go to this can also be accessed via our practice website

User Policy

Please use this service responsibly.  In the case of any abuse of the service the surgery will revoke your log in details which will stop you accessing the service.

Examples of irresponsible use of the system include;

  • Booking appointments you have no intention of attending
